Gerrard not taking Ibrahimovic advice on Liverpool exit

Steven Gerrard plans to ignore Zlatan Ibrahimovic's suggestion that he should move away from Liverpool, reiterating his commitment to "one of the biggest clubs in the world".

The midfielder reached the impressive landmark of 600 appearances for the Reds in early November, having made his first-team breakthrough 14 years ago.

The England international is also set to become the sixth man to win his 100th cap for the Three Lions on Wednesday night, when Roy Hodgson's men travel to Sweden.

Ahead of that game, Swedish forward Ibrahimovic, who is likely to start for the home side at the Friends Arena, claimed that he would like to see Gerrard leave Anfield for a "big international club".

However, the England skipper revealed that he will not be taking up the Paris Saint-Germain star's advice and insisted that the Merseyside outfit are still one of the biggest clubs around.

"I'm a big fan of Zlatan as a pl ayer but I'm not going to take his advice," the midfielder told reporters.

"I am very happy at Liverpool and in my opinion I am at one of the biggest clubs in the world, a team that has won the European Cup five times.

"So I'm happy where I am but thanks for his opinion."
