Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has reiterated his ambition to play overseas following further speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

Goal.com exclusively revealed on Thursday that the Welsh winger has told Daniel Levy about his intention to leave White Hart Lane for a move to Real Madrid, if the Spanish side met Spurs' 50 million asking price.

The former Southampton player insists that he is not afraid to test himself somewhere other than the Premier League.

"It would be nice to experience other leagues and other cultures", he told theDaily Mirror. "I have always said I am not afraid to go abroad.

"If the time comes and a team that is right comes in for me, then I will look at it seriously. I will see what happens."

The Spurs midfielder also believes that he can avoid the problems faced by British players overseas in the past, reasoning: "As long as you don't get to o carried away, you are usually okay. You just go along with what is going along. You never really take too much notice.

"As soon as you realise how big you are, that is when you lose yourself.

"I just try to keep going. You just have to take the attention in your stride. The main thing is to concentrate on my football.

My agent [Jonathan Barnett] has been great - we have been very close - and my family help me keep my feet on the ground. I have got a great group around me which helps me a great deal."
