Manchester City aim to rush through deals for Garcia, Maicon, Sinclair & Nastasic

Manchester City hope to kick-off a big-money deadline day recruitment drive with the signing of Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia.

The reigning Premier League champions are attempting to force through a 25 million move for the highly-rated 25-year-old, though the Portuguese giants are believed to want 30m for his services.

City's interest in the Spaniard has come about as a result of their recent failure to capture Daniele De Rossi from Roma and they also require cover in the middle following the sale of Nigel de Jong to Milan.

Any move would be part of a busy final day of the transfer window for Roberto Mancini, who is also expected to tie up deals for Inter right-back Maicon, Swansea winger Scott Sinclair and Fiorentina defender Matija Nastasic.
