Uefa president Michel Platini has stressed that European football's governing body will not make any exceptions when it comes to the Financial Fair Play regulations.
Clubs such as Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have been heavily criticised for their transfer business this summer, but Platini has reiterated that teams can still spend as much as they want, as long as they follow the rules.
"If the Italians had spent so much this summer, the French would have been talking about Financial Fair Play all the time," Platini was quoted as saying by Gazzetta dello Sport.
"These rules were unanimously approved by all clubs, politicians, judges and the European Union. There's no going back from here on. FFP is a hard rule for any team, regardless of whether we're talking about PSG, Juventus, or any other team.
"I have spoken with directors from all clubs. They have all stressed that they would follow the new rules. It seems t hat some worry a bit more about FFP than others, though.
"Financial Fair Play does not stop clubs from buying players. Clubs can still spend as much as they want as long as their budget accounts for it."
Paris Saint-Germain were one of the main spenders of the summer transfer window with the arrival of players such as Thiago Silva, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
